Set in Paris during the summer of 1959, the film steps behind the scenes of one of the most influential movies of the 20th century. It explores the friction between a young, renegade film critic turned director, Jean-Luc Godard, and his cast and crew. The production relies on guerrilla-style tactics, including improvised scripts, un-synced sound, and spontaneous, handheld camera work.

Sentimental Value (2025), directed by Joachim Trier, is a Norwegian drama following estranged sisters Nora and Agnes, who must reconnect with their narcissistic, famous filmmaker father, Gustav (Stellan Skarsgård), after their mother’s death. Gustav attempts a comeback by casting a young Hollywood star (Elle Fanning) in a deeply autobiographical film about his traumatic childhood and his own failings as a parent, forcing his daughters to confront their past.
We screen ten monhtly films a year, from September through June. The current licensing landscape makes it difficult to plan for/book films too far in advance, so we’ve adopted a month-to-month model. This allows us to keep quite current in our programming. Any upcoming films displayed below.
The Ballad of Wallis Island follows Charles (Tim Key), an eccentric lottery winner who lives alone on a remote island and dreams of getting his favorite musicians, Mortimer-McGwyer (Carey Mulligan and Tom Basden) back together. His fantasy quickly turns into reality when the bandmates and former lovers accept his invitation to play a private show at his home on Wallis Island. Old tensions resurface as Charles tries desperately to salvage his dream gig.
We aim to offer a programme that covers a broad range of genres and interests, in the hopes of appealing to as wide an audience as possible.
As well as our regular screenings, we also work within the community to offer additional screening events–click below to find out more.
Our final four films for March-June will be announced at our February screening of Moonage Daydream.
